The Smart Villages Initiative, in partnership with Practical Action organised a workshop in Lima Peru last January to consider South America’s experience of reducing rural poverty through access to, and use of, sustainable energy sources. A policy brief, published today, summarises our findings on the role of government and maximising the development benefits from technology such as mini-grids and solar home systems.
