For a sector that is supposed to be under pressure, I’ve been pleasantly surprised this week by the strength of the language in many of the articles. From the CEO Parami in Myanmar saying one doesn’t need to be a rocket scientist to see that mini-grids are in its future, to Time magazine positively reporting that the solar industry keeps adding jobs. Add to this positive news of continued off-grid investment in Nigeria, Kenya, China, and the Philippines, and the picture is bright. Except perhaps in India, where I’ve included a variety of reports on the recent budget, which has received mixed reviews. I leave you to make your own judgements.
