Watch our Partner Working Session below – a special thanks to Jane Oyugi, Co-Founder & CEO Sustenersol Company Ltd., for sharing her video!

Join us on Wednesday, 5 April from 3PM-4PM for our Partner Working Session, “Voices from the Village – Are you listening to what we really want?” at the SEforALL Forum at Duggal Greenhouse in Brooklyn, New York from 3-5 April.

This interactive, inclusive, and engaging session will discuss and debate the need to focus more on dividends from energy access, particularly for off-grid communities, to achieve not only SDG 7 but a range of other SDGs. A panel made up of community leaders from high impact countries around the world will answer the key starting question: what exactly are the priorities for villages themselves when it comes to achieving energy access dividends? For many, the answers will be surprising. The ensuing conversation will focus on the need for an integrated and cross-sectoral approach to achieving these dividends, while also facilitating productive uses of energy.

We’ll be joined by several excellent speakers with direct knowledge of rural development and energy from three continents:

  • Martin Kariongi, founder of the Institute for Orkonerei Pastoralists Advancement in Tanzania
  • Alfonso Guevara Chota, Mayor of Distrito de Napo, Provincia de Maynas, Región Loreto,
    Perú
  • Grégory Etienne, Mayor of Pilate, in the north of Haiti
  • Tri Mumpuni, co-founder of IBEKA, Indonesia
  • Jessica Olivares Magill, Acciona Microenergía Perú
  • Marc Antoine Archer, chairman of the Observatoire Haïtien de l’Energie-ObservEH (Haiti)

SEforall Forum April 3-5 2017

The Sustainable Energy for All Forum is the landmark gathering celebrating the global sustainable energy movement.

Over 1,000 high-level representatives from government, business, civil society and international organizations will gather in New York City for the 3rd Sustainable Energy for All Forum – its theme “Going Further, Faster – Together.”

The Forum will be a marketplace to help broker new partnerships and ideas, spur investment and drive action towards sustainable energy and realising Sustainable Development Goal 7. SEforAll Partners from across the globe will share their stories about how they are achieving results.

“Going Further, Faster – Together” will examine recent data on progress including the launch of the 3rd edition of the Global Tracking Framework on the delivery of universal access to modern energy services, doubling the share of renewable energy and doubling the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency by 2030.

The Forum – coming soon after the Paris Agreement entered into force and just 18 months after the adoption of the SDGs – will target solutions for accelerating and scaling energy access and energy productivity.
