Water, energy, and food nexus workshop: Lessons from West Africa

Smart Villages Initiative and Energy4Impact (formerly known as GVEP) are pleased to announce a workshop focusing on the ‘Water, energy, and food nexus: Lessons from West Africa’. The workshop will be a two-day event in Saly, Senegal on the 24th and 25th of August.

Over a period of three years, the Smart Villages Initiative is conducting workshops and follow-up engagement activities across six regions – East and West Africa, South and Southeast Asia, and Central and South America – focusing on energy provision to off-grid rural areas as a catalyst for
development.

As an important component of the Smart Villages engagement programme in West Africa, the workshop in Saly will focus on the water, energy and food (WEF) nexus and its impact at a local level in West Africa. The workshop will provide relevant insights to the challenges facing countries in West Africa and help identify some potential solutions to overcoming these challenges.
